Obituary for Joseph Hrvatin

Joseph Hrvatin
JOSEPH J. HRVATIN Age 92. Devoted husband to Norma (nee Barton) for 65 years; beloved father to Philip (Susan) and Stacie Hrvatin. Preceded by daughter Claudia and sister Frances.
Cherished ‘Papa’ to grandchildren Amy (Josh) Crithfield, Michael Hrvatin and Elisabeth (Justin) Sill and his great-grandchildren Nolan, Grace, Charlotte (and Baby Sill), along with being a dear uncle, cousin and friend. Joe was a proud Navy Veteran of WWII having belonged to the American Legion, VFW Lodge and Euclid Veterans Club. He had been a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Mary’s where he had attended grade school. He was fond of his Slovenian culture and spoke the language fluently. Joe went from enjoying motorcycling with his buddies to long car drives to riding his scooter. He would regale anyone who would listen with tales of the war years or his childhood hijinks in the Collinwood neighborhoods in which he grew up. Everyone knew what a good sense of humor he had as well as his friendly manner.
There will be a huge void left without Joe, Dad, Papa, Uncle Joe, Jose…he will be dearly missed.
Mass will be on March 1, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Mary's Church, 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland 44110. Family will receive friends from 9:00am until mass. The family invites attendants to join in celebration at a luncheon at St. Mary’s directly following the mass.
